The objectives of the Scandinavian Association of WA are:
- To promote the harmonious interrelationship between Scandinavia and Australia.
- To hold such functions as to maintain the traditions of Scandinavia, including the national days.
- To maintain a premises for the purpose of providing social and cultural activities for it's members.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Man som Hatar Kvinnor) in Swedish with subtitles is on at Somerville from 15-21 March at 7.30 pm and at Joondalup Pines from 22-28 March at 7.30 pm.

Max Manus is on at Somerville 22-28 March. This is a film in Norwegian, German and English with subtitles.

Busy Bee at Nordic House
The number of members turning up for Busy-Bees at Nordic House last time was fantastic.
Another turnout like last time would be just what we need and would be much appreciated.
If you know how to use a paint brush or feel that you could contribute in other ways to the painting be at the Busy Bee on Sunday 7th March 2010.

Fastelavn at Nordic House
Fastelavn for the young and older people will be at Nordic House on Sunday the 14th of February at 2pm.
Please bring you own picnic and bbq`s will be available, and cool drinks can be bought. The cost will be $3 per person.

Children's Christmas Party and Lucia
The annual Christmas Party and Lucia Parade will be held at the Latvian Community Centre, commencing at 4.30 pm. Please be there on time, as Father Christmas will arrive around 5pm. Parents are reminded to bring a gift for each child at the value of around $10 and it should be placed in the sack near the front door.
We will sing the Christmas Carols, dance around the tree, open a present each and enjoy some scrumptious hotdogs!
It will be followed by the Lucia Parade and the crowning of the Lucia at approx. 7 pm.
