The objectives of the Scandinavian Association of WA are:
- To promote the harmonious interrelationship between Scandinavia and Australia.
- To hold such functions as to maintain the traditions of Scandinavia, including the national days.
- To maintain a premises for the purpose of providing social and cultural activities for it's members.
Time changed for Norwegian lessons!!!
At last we can announce that from Monday 22th June until 1st of September there will be Norwegian lessons for beginners at Nordic House!! The teacher is Norwegian, Agnethe Selnes. For the kids she is starting up a norwegian play school.
Norwegian play school with organised activities will also start from the same date. The sessions will go over 12 weeks and be prepared by Agnethe Selnes. Activies will include norwegian fairytales, rhymetime, mini pizza baking, face painting and "trolldeig". All materials will be provided.
5pm to 6pm for kids
615pm to 730 pm for adults.
Norwegian lessons at Nordic House!!

6pm to 7pm for kids
715pm to 830 pm for adults.
Price is $120 for adult/children, including materials.
For two children the price is $100,- per child.

Important message to Norwegians who needs new passport
The Norwegian Consulate have informed Scandinavian Association that from 1st of December 2009 all new passports need fingerprints.
That means from this date passport can not be made in Perth. You have to go to Canberra. It´s recommended that if you need a new one, please order before 1st December. After this date, children and adults have to travel to Canberra.

17th of May, National Day for Norway
Meet up in Stirling Gardens (Cnr. Barrack St. & St. George’s Tce.) at 10.30 a.m. Program will be as follows:
* Procession through Perth, escorted by local police.
* Speech for the day.
* The Norwegian national anthem
* Hot dogs, cake, soft drinks and fun games.
So, come together and join us in the celebration! The event in Stirling Gardens will last until 2 p.m.

$10 for the event and party at The Manor, Leederville *
Non members:
$7 for just the event
17th May Parade need volunteers!
During the parade through the city of Perth, police have asked ANSA to organise volunteers to walk a long side the parade as guards. This to control the people in the parade. They have asked about 15 to 20 people.
