The objectives of the Scandinavian Association of WA are:
- To promote the harmonious interrelationship between Scandinavia and Australia.
- To hold such functions as to maintain the traditions of Scandinavia, including the national days.
- To maintain a premises for the purpose of providing social and cultural activities for it's members.
Swedish Club of WA Turns 40
This year, the Swedish Club of WA turns 40 years old and The Swedish School of WA is 10 years old.
A combined birthday party is to be held on 19 October 2013. Please reserve the date and more information will be available closer to the day.
SBS Radio Programmes
With the onset of digital radio, SBS Radio has rescheduled the broadcasts of its Scandinavian programs.
News from the Committee
Since the last SCANPOST was published, we have had a Busy Bee at Nordic House and another Over 50s lunch. Thanks to Henry and Palle for facilitating the Busy Bee and thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to give Nordic House a much needed spruce-up. And many thanks to Annette for another wonderfully successful Over 50s Lunch.
Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of our Association will be held on Saturday 10 August at Nordic House commencing at 3.00 pm. The meeting should last about 1½ hours.
Membership Reminder
It’s that time of the year when the Association needs your financial support.
Annual membership fees are now due and to vote at the AGM in August, you must be a financial member of the Association.
